Going Down

Here's my update after weighing in at Weight Watchers on Wednesday night...Another 6.6 pounds gone for a total weight loss of 22 pounds so far...I'm very happy with my results so far and I have to send a big thank you to my wife Lisa who does all the cooking for us...She's been spot on for our meals and snacks...My goal for next week is to lose 2 pounds...Wish me luck...On to a couple of other things...Talking to our friend, Queensbury High School teacher, Dan Kane, live from the middle of all the action in Washington, D.C. was very cool...When you can feel the excitement of an event over the air is special...Listening to what was going on In D.C. and to have someone right in the middle of it was neat...Now our new president needs to roll up his sleeves and get to work...I'm glad we have a week of football off for the Super Bowl...I'm going to have to wipe the sleep off my eyes to get motivated to watch this one...That's all for now...See you on the radio...Dan

Only 53 Left

I just got back from Weight Watchers after the 1st week and here are the numbers...Weight lost in the 1st week...15.4 pounds...Current weight 252...Wow...I didn't think I lost that much but I am damn happy about that...The weight loss that I had for the 1st week is just from diet change and eating the right things...No 6 donut mornings or anything like that...I just ate healthy last week and I wasn't hungry...The new Momentum plan seems to be easy to follow and give you the help to keep you on the right track...It's very embarrassing to say I lost 15.4 pounds after just one week from changing my diet...I know what to do but I just wasn't doing it...Wish me luck going into week 2...That's all for now...See you on the radio..Dan

Nowhere near 100...I'm no Leccese and other things

Congrats to Ken Leccese on his 100th blog entry...I'm sure somewhere in Chestertown there's another party I didn't get invited to...He actually is funny in his blog...I'm looking forward to going to Weight Watchers on Wednesday night to see where I am after one week...The new Momentum plan is easy to follow...I don't get on the scale between meetings...That kind of stuff would make me go crazy...I'll let you know how I make out after the meeting...The new season of 24 is back after 2 2-hour nights...I'm glad it's back, It's my favorite show...With the cold snap we are in now, I'm looking forward to pitchers and catchers reporting...That's it for now...See you on the radio...Dan

Here I Go

With 2009 starting, I am now going back to Weight Watchers...Here is the Dan Miner starting weight...267.4...I would like to say I am surprised about that number but I guessed that I was at 270 so I'm 2 and a half pounds closer to my goal...My goal is ambitious at 200...I know it can be done so now it's off to work on it...24 hours in and it's going great, counting my points and planning what I'm going to eat...You need to plan to win and that's what I am doing...With 2009 now on us full throttle, my favorite tv show, 24, comes back on after ore than a year off, due to the writers strike...I can't wait for the 4 hours of 24 to start on Sunday night...I'm off now to drink a bottle of water...See you on the radio...Dan

2009 Stuff

Happy New Year...I got a message from my old friend, Dave Strader, on Tuesday saying he was going to come out of the bullpen to announce the NHL's outdoor game in Chicago on New Years Day...Nothing against Mike Emerick, but Dave is the man...I love to watch games that Dave does...He's a local guy that has a way of doing the games without going overboard screaming and hollering about the smallest thing...When Dave gets excited, there's a great reason for it...He's not a hype man...I've had the pleasure of working with him for years and he is a semi-regular guest on the Morning Club...Happy New Year to you Dave and your family...A class act indeed...Congratultions to everyone that did the Polar Plunge in Lake George on New Years Day...I've done it before and you don't have to be nuts to do it...I hope all the participants come back out during the cold of February for the Lake George Winter Carnival and bring their friends and do it again...My one New Year's resolution was to lose weight and I am going back to Weight Watchers on Wednesday nights...I've done it before and I know it works...I will keep you up-to-date on my progress...The bad news about that is that the WCKM studio will be a NPZ...A Non-Pastry Zone...Wish me luck and kepp the goodies away from the studio when I'm in it...That's all for now...See you on the radio...Dan
